Hi everyone,

Apologies if this question has been asked already but does anyone know if we will be able to redeem QF points on Jetstar Asia? Or if there are any plans to?

I checked out their initial schedules and they work in well with my travel plans, Prices are cheap but thought if I could get an award flight even better!

Cheers.

If prices are cheap then its a waste of hard-earned miles (unless awards significantly discounted which wont happen).

Or if the tail end of a longer award, say SYD-SIN-xx_ where you might get the extra segment for little additional points. But the chance of that in the new rules after May 25th will be greatly reduced since each sector will be considered a new trip and the points for each trip added together. When that happens, probably best to consider paying the cash or routing via HKG on CX.

Not necessarily true - if it is anything like Jetstar Oz, where you can only book an award seat on a QF code on the JQ flight - you wouldn't be changing airlines. Therefore if you don't stopover in SIN (ie departure within 24hrs of arrival), this wouldn't be considered a new trip, and the miles for each sector add up to determine the zone in which the ticket falls, rather than adding up the points for each sector. With SYD-SIN being 3908 miles, that gives a whole 892 miles before entering a new zone - probably enough to get to Pattaya, Surabaya & Jakarta.

That is assuming QF will be codesharing on Jestar Asia. Has anything been announced about such codesharing between them?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Wished I lived in Singapore, I could go to Hong Kong for just $38 SGD at present, and they still have seats avbl - interesting how Jetstar Asia allocate seats !
