Jetstar Global SIM Launched

Quite often on this forum there are questions related to using overseas SIM cards or "global SIM’s", and now it appears Jetstar has entered into this market. Considering their services usually, I’m not sure I’d want to use them for my overseas calls, but thought this might be of some interest.

Jetstar Global SIM

Jetstar Chief Commercial Officer David Koczkar said Jetstar continues to work with new partners to bring innovative products to the market for its customers.

“Jetstar offers value to customers when they fly and also while they’re on holidays. The innovative Jetstar Global SIM card provided by GoSIM gives customers the choice to stay in touch while on holidays without the surprise of an enormous phone bill when they get home,” Mr Koczkar said.

Re: Jetstar Global SIM Launched

useful if you don't plan do use the phone much~

With no charge to receive calls from 70 countries and SMS from all 180 countries. Useful for those that just want to be contactable.

I can't call you but feel free to call me :)

Jetstar is now offering a global Simcard and being a zero on technology I was wondering if this could be a solution when using an unlocked Apple I phone. It says you can receive calls for free in more than 70 countries and make low cost calls from 180 destinations. The launch offer is $19.25 plus $7.00 delivery.
Your thoughts please?

If you look at the rates they are pretty standard.

It's free to receive SMS while roaming with your australian number anyway so it's not a POD

If its free to receive calls where ever you are travelling to then by all means get this. But I doubt the people that want to reach you would want to shell out and call a UK/US number
