I wonder if CNS-KIX will switch to A321
Probably would take the 787 from there.

They could command good demand from SYD. JQ day flight isn't the worst option and then return via QF mainline from HND.

Also I suspect it will remain for a while but eventually transition to QF mainline as well. Market with no direct flight competition right now to KIX (except exCNS).

I'd say all the JQ 787 routes EX CNS will eventually go A321
Aren't the flights to and from NRT fairly full these days and moving to 321 would see a lot less PAX. Unless they plan to shift the 787 still to be on NRT but from another city.

Yuck. This should be a QF flight.
I can understand to some degree. I think in the long run we'll see it shift over to QF. But given QFs current lack of widebody and their uncertainty on the route, it makes sense they're using JQ to see the response.

This could be like when they initially launched MEL > NRT then QF took over the route.

I recall they flew to Nagoya with the A330s also way back, and SYD-KUL was another one. Unlikely to see those come back, especially with the birth of Air Asia X.

What other routes did they also have? Brisbane to Honolulu I definitely flew once. Was plans to fly Singapore into Europe, those plans long ago crushed, and now Scoot operates those routes.

Scoot has just two cities in Europe. There’s probably room for a JQ service into somewhere else, perhaps even somewhere like Croatia, a couple of times a week, which is very popular amongst Australians. But wasn't crew rest area the problem for Europe flights?
