The internet on board is hopeless

but you already knew this… excuse is not accepted…..
We always carry a data card and there are cellphone signals in even the most unusual places.
There was no shortage of connection on our trip around the Irish sea on the Explorer

tgh I'm an old tightwad. No paying for things you expect for free.Early this year on the Muse the internet was bad but I could still keepup posts on my TR with pics.Basically impossible at the present.

Well they say necessity is the mother of invention. So today a thought popped into my mind of a way to post pics without uploading to Flickr. It seems to work though I need to do further work on resizing. But here we go.Back to the wisterias.

We now went to checkin at the R9 hotel Sano.We knew it was going to be a small room but the website shows 2 single beds side by side. This is what greeted us.

There wasn't even enough room to swing a mouse. But it had a good laundry and mrsdrron caught up on the washing.
About 1630 we headed back to the Flower Park to have an early dinner-one of the restaurants served suikiyaki and shabu shabu-but also to see the wisteria lit up.
We got a park close to the entrance,Less than 100 metres but the surface was dirt and a little uneven.Mrsdrron was looking at a little shop and suddenly ended up on the ground. She hit the ground quite heavily. It would be disaster if any injury to her ankle.Fortunately that was fine but a large egg quickly appeared above her right eye and her right hand was very sore and later extensively bruised.Minor scratches to right knee and elbow.
Help appeared from all directions.Eventually she felt she could stand.Staff from the park were there and took us into their office where the lacerations were cleaned up.Obviously it was not a good idea to keep on with our plans so back to the hotel and I went out and got some KFC for dinner.

We had taken pictures of posters of the night viewing and they looked good.

I just load pictures straight from the iPhone.

Native photos from a phone, and more so from a camera, can make posts slow to load if there are a lot of photos and comms are slow. It's becomes really hard on in-flight WiFi. I lament that AFF doesn't have the option, at least on an iPhone, where you can choose actual, large, medium or low size when emailing photos. It makes it so much faster to choose, say, medium resolution.

On the road, I upload direct from my iPhone but most of my TR photos are from my camera and about twice the size of phone photos. In that case I do the TR in Word and use the Snipping Tool to massively shrink the size of the photos and they load in a flash.

I think @drron puts his photos through a picture-editing tool that shrinks them because his posts load quickly.

Yes I do edit my photos for size. They do upload much more quickly when I do so.But I am now shrinking via Picasa so the only uploading is from the finished product. This did not work with previous AFF programs but does since the recent upgrade.
I hate my smart phone.Fingers too big to do anything quickly-so many mistakes. So pictures always from a camera.

So the last few pics were downsized to 480 pixels.Previously 320 pixels which is what these next couple of posts will be.If people say they prefer slightly larger I will go with that.
So on my way back I took what I thought would be a short cut but came upon a little shrine plus a sunset. And it was a sunset as despite stopping to take pics I still came back to the main road in front of those I had been behind.

Now google maps showed that on the most direct route to NRT the peony farm was just a 3KM detour. The GPS refused to show that route.Turns out because there was a new freeway.Passed this building along the way.

Coming off the freeway google had you turning on to route 19.Problem was there were 4 route 19s and naturally the 4th I chose was the correct one.
Found where the peony farm should have been but sadly no sign of it-and I used their website instructions on how to get there.
So off to the Aeon mall for a sushi lunch. All decorated.
165851.
Sushi was standard but they did have small squid which were excellent.

Dropped mrsdrron and the bags off at the CP.Had to fill the car.Now you would think the service station nearest NRT might have languages other than Japanese. The problem is they all have different methods of payment And I hadn't used an Eonos station before.Fortunately it is easy for me to just stand and look stupid so soon it was all done for me.
Then dropped the car back to Toyota.Used $30 of petrol and $90 in tolls!
An easy walk back to the CP where we had the same room as a few days before. The checkin agent said no king rooms available so would you mind taking the room you had last time.A suite so a quick yes.
Dinner was a shared pizza in their restaurant with our free drinks.
