Oh dear -

Japan

Wonder what Airbus will do with the A380 that they have already started to customise for Skymark?

I don't know if I was ever convinced that they would actually take delivery

Leaves 2 aircraft that are structurally complete but will likely need interior fit out adjustment.

Fascinating to see who ends up with them.

I couldn't believe they even ordered them.

Air Austral has two on order. I'm not sure those will ever be delivered either.

Transaero is another that I'm not convinced about. And they have the 748 on order as well.

VS is another likely candidate for cancellation/switch to the A350.

Yes, interesting.

Still, what did they expect when they cancel an order after construction has commenced, with no clear airline to take on the airframe.

Pity QF isn't in a position to take on 2 more frames (presumably unloaded at a discount / subsidised by Skymark).

If QF were not going through this 'cost reduction' program they would surely consider taking another A380 for SYD-HKG?! And if they were to get a second they'd consider either SYD-NRT or BNE-LAX?

I reckon SQ might snap it up - they seem to have a shortage after planning to take A380s off MEL and SYD as soon as they're allowed to run them to India.

Should also be noted that Skymark, like Virgin Atlantic whose order is also continually being pushed back, have the Rolls Royce engine option -- thus unlikely for Emirates to take up these jets.

Its really only BA, Singapore and Qantas that have the RRs in any real numbers.
