JAL Seat Selection

I just booked some reward seats business class on JAL (Narita to Frankfurt) for next year. When I tried to do the seat selection on the Qantas site, it comes up with an error message "due to system limitations Seat Selection is not available in Manage my Booking".

I tried the JAL website, but the Qantas reference number is not working there.

How do you do seat selection?

The QF PNR will work on JL but their website can be flakey. From memory it took some time (a few days) for the website to recognise it and it may have taken some trial and error with your name to get it to work. Others have had success calling them

Do you have your middle name included with the ticket? I find that most times it is my middle name causing the problem. You have to add the middle name in the first name column with no space.

Yes, I have a vague recollection of having to do that. I think there might be another thread here (or elsewhere) that told me to do that.
