Hi All,

I redeemed x2 JAL J for MEL-NRT with QFF points last year, for my trip in Oct 2025.

At the time of booking, I paid 90k points and $429 per person in tax.

It seems that taxes now for the same flight is around $200+ or am I mistaken?

What could explain the difference in taxes - is it due to QFF devaluation?

Anyway, would Qantas refund the difference if prompted?

You seem to be confusing real taxes (as paid to a govt) and carrier surcharges (= airline profit)
