JAL - hotel in transit

I know JAL provides a hotel in NRT when flying from Aus-London (which requires an overnight). However what about if I'm booking a JAL flight that includes a Qantas flight to Sydney (from Mel), overnight at SYD to connect to JAL flight to NRT? Do they provide accom in Sydney as well? Used to not be a problem, but the JAL flight now leaves Syd too early to get a same day connection to Syd.

Yes they do if it misconnects, we were put up at the Stamford Sydney Airport last August when flying J.

Yes, but only if you are in J or F!

Thanks to both replies! Yes, will be in J (thankfully) so looking forward to a cheap oneworld flight and a broken journey with some rest! What a bargain!
