Don't worry. Anna Bligh(t) will be there tomorrow offering them serious $$$$$$ to bring back more seats to Brisbane.

Can't people realise that Japanese tourists don't care for Australia (and Queensland) any more?

Dunno why, the ¥ buys 40% more Koala souvenirs than it used to ...

But other currencies have also weakened against the ¥ . 40% for Australia vs whatever % for other countries may not be enough to swing visitors.

I would imagine the Japanese have their own issues and have found better destinations. Surprisingly there appears to be more Japanese tourists in Europe than previous years.

But Aussies are still flocking to Japan ,it seems, according to these figures.
Inbound figures continue to
disappoint but Australian
arrivals to Japan have
increased 24 per cent over
the past two years according
to figures from the Japan
National Tourism Organisation.
A total of 242,000
Australians visited Japan in
2008, up from 222,518 in 2007
and 195,094 in 2006.
