J to LA?

Posted a query last year about the cheapest way to LA in J, as the rack rates posted by QF were outrageous. Was advised by someone on this board to enquire about Circle Pacific fares, as they were likely to be considerably cheaper. A call to QF in January 07 informed me that SYD-LAX-SYD was a steal at $13 335 plus taxes, whereas SYD-HKG-LAX-SYD would cost $7069 plus taxes. So a big thanks to the person who suggested this option. Does anyone have any suggestions for a cheaper oneworld J fare to LA?

From april 1st and if 2 travelling together JAL have a companion fare in J for $5849 plus taxes to LAX.Before April 1 of course JAL are not oneworld though you can earn AA points.

Another option, though not specifically J class, is to use JQ Star Class to HNL and then a YUP for on AA to get you into their domestic First class. That is likely the cheapest way in premium cabins.

Also look at carriers like Hawaiian Airlines via HNL, Air Tahiti Nui via PPT and Air Pacific via NAN.

On ExpertFlyer, HA are showing fares PLNARR and PLRTNR for $5700.

It's about AUD2550 for StarClass return on JQ to HNL and YUPS are available from HNL-LAX return from USD1850 (~AUD2400).

(Hmmm ... YUPS fro HNL-BOS are from USD1460 return and HNL-MIA are USD1660, wierd)
