J seats selection NRT-JFK on JL

Hi all,

My wife and I will commence our DONE4 on Monday on AA5825 (744 on JL8 metal) from NRT-JFK and need some help with our seats.
What would be good seats for both of us? It's a night flight and I believe we will be getting the JAL SHELL FLAT SEAT. I would probably want to sit upstairs.
I couldn't find JAL seats recommendation in seatguru.com
How do I get the Amadeus Reservation Number to look up checkmytrip.com? I only have the AA record locator.
Can I choose the seat online the same way as in aa.com?

I havent seen any online seat selections for JAL - .

To get your record locator - just call QF if you have any segments on QF - they can give you the locator. Not sure it will help as my JAL seats didnt how up on CMT or anywhere else.

serfty posted these links in a similar thread recently. Doesn't help with actually 'reserving' seats but could give you an idea of which seats you would like. The quick look I had didn't reveal any opinions, but at least the layout is there (though there are umpteen configurations)

If you booked this itinerary through AA, then Amadeus is only going to show the QF and BA flight sectors as well as any direct connections to other airlines. You will need to use VirtuallyThere.com with the AA Sabre record locator to view the entire booking.
