J Saver award availability to AMS (etc)

Looking for two J saver returns in May next year from Brisbane. Have been looking for a few weeks and still no availability with AMS or CPH. There is availability using standard rewards.Would suit me to go in or out of Milan or Barcalona but no luck there either. However availability with J Savers with FRA and ZRH though not all flights with FRA with the 300ER only.

As others have said MH is looking good!

Yes I meant to include FRA. I was surprised when I saw you post you secured 4!!! J tickets. Well done. I hesitated a month or more back to book (160k returns FRA, CPH) when I found AMS was not an option. Next I checked points requird was 255k. Within about 2 weeks everything up to Xmas disappeared. Maybe I should get you to do my bookings.

I am certain the experience on MH will not match SQ but I have my fingers crossed.

MH is not as good as SQ, but it's not bad!

I thought, maybe incorrectly that LON impossed a high environmental tax based on the cost of your fare so that influenced my decision.
The taxes etc with MH amount to $903 v. SQ last I paid about $846 but I put this down to the AUD exchange rate weakness.

There is some truth about the UK taxes - $1200 per person rtn to LHR with SQ vs $900 for FRA. And apparently little or no difference between SQ and MH, good to know.

You can take over my bookings! I just checked before last post and no availablity SYD-AMS or SYD-FRA Sept-Oct. You are booking ex MEL, maybe that is the difference.

Yes starting in MEL might be the difference. In theory it shouldn't make a difference unless there is limited availability from SYD-SIN (and I doubt if there is), but the SQ award availability seems to be riddled with such quirks.

What surprised me was when you booked onwards SIN-FRA when my checks indicated there was nothing available, the only difference being the first sector. Go figure.

After having no success getting my wait listed portion of my flight confirmed for May next year(FCO-SIN confirmed but wait listed SIN-SYD and no availability into Melbourne or Brisbane) I decided to also book on the same flight two days later, same thing happened, availabilty FCO-SIN but wait listed SIN-SYD, called up SIA tonight as the FCO-SYD wasn't showing as confirmed on my reservation (and the seats were still available when doing a dummy booking) and they were able to confirm both sectors!!! So excited, still only 68000 points and it is on the refitted 777-200, with the 1,2,1 seating......winning!!
what amazing value 68k points for business class!! Don't get redemption value like that anywhere else

What on earth is going on! I've been trying for months to get a J saver SIN-SYD without success. I'm now booked on Malaysian. Life can be so cruel.
