Looking to travel SYD-LAX rtn in May on QF. Budget doesn't allow for J both ways. Is it possible to book J one way, and PE the other? The website doesn't seem to be able to do this, like the EK one can.

Only way is to book two one ways. If you dont mind going via NAN, ex NAN to LAX return in J is $AUD 2000 with FJ, which compared to Qantas is PE comfort with J SCs

Yeah, don't need SCs as have already retained WP and way off P1. Two one ways works out much more expensive than J. Can TAs book this fare with different cabins?

QF over the phone told me no and my travel agent also said no, as did Amex travel when I wanted to travel in F/J

As you have said 2 x one ways is far more expensive than J return

You could always book PE both ways and request a points upgrade to J ?

I think it may be possible if you call qf and book it as a multi city. I just made an Ex-USA multi city in Y+ and for the last leg back to the USA the lady asked if i wanted to be in economy or premium.. So i think it maybe possible!!? Even if you just add in a stop in syd or mel and fly out the same day just ask them to put it in the system as two different segments.

PS. I haven't read the thread linked above so not sure if what i have just said has already been covered?

cheers gogo

Split class bookings can only be done for Y/W combinations and F/J combinations on QF. No other combinations are permitted.
