I don't mind a queue for coffee and food but there should be a constant supply of food available!

You are probably talking about mornings but I hate queues for coffee especially when there is only 1 person serving.

It can take 2-3 minutes for the coffee to be made while it takes ~10 seconds to get a beer out of the fridge yet I have to wait for the coffee queue.

That's a pet hate of mine. These pesky latte drinkers holding up the booze queue

The MEL J lounge this morning was a zoo, not only were there no seats, every table had uncleared food on it (the poor lady couldn't keep up!)

I don't know how many CL's there are invading the lounge at present but I've certainly never seen the lounge this busy before.

Dare I say it, but has the proliferation of us WP's affected the quality of the lounge?
Will the new lounge management combined with the excess numbers cause a bigger issue?

You are right I don't know but what I do know is that I've never seen the lounge as crowded as what I saw today.

It's fair to say that the most obvious reason for overcrowding is that more people have access rights is it not?

I'm more than open to other reasons as to why it was so full today?

One person's zoo is another's walk in the park. I was in there this morning between 5:55 and 6:25 and I don't recall it being so quiet (but then I *was* exceptionally early this morning).

I thought the location of the baristas - in the Bar area so the queue was not constantly interrupted by the juice-drinkers - better. I thought the quality of the bread for toasting has gone from Lawsons to Helgas - poorer.

I thought the new uniforms (with the red flash on the RHS vest lapel) looked very smart.

Sorry, not a big eater in the mornings, so it's usually just latte and toast for me in the JLounge.

We already have the wine machine, just get a beer machine - aka the Japanese lounges.

I always show the card and walk in, they don't ask to scan it.

I passed through last week and there was a noticeable change in the offerings and service. There were three big bowls of dips with associated crackers or bread as well as two sandwich presses for toasties. I saw two attendants actively cleaning up tables with one 'waiter' greeting me ("Good morning, sir") and later, when he saw my drink empty, asking if I wanted another one.

I don't think it is a policy per se, however due to the high volume they probably don't scan it as a time saving thing. In theory they could and have the right to, but it'd likely create some delays...

Maybe they should since i think a few are using lounge when they are not entitled too which does not help the crowding problems.
