For those that have flown in Suites and those that have flown with infants...

Looking at taking the wife and baby to Europe next year - don't have enough miles for 2x F or even an F and J but could do F + Y or J + J.

Thinking behind F + Y is that it gets us a suite, which might just be the best way to get mum and bub across the sky and have a happy time when we're there (ie. space/privacy/sanity). For those that have flown them before...
- Is there enough space to travel comfortably with a visitor in the suite (if I came up from Y from a few hours for a movie or something)? Do the crew even allow/look kindly on this?
- With an F ticket can you bring guests to the lounge?
- Negative is that we'd have to pay 10% of an F ticket for bub, as opposed to 10% of J

Or would it be better to just do two J and ride together?

Cheers for any feedback/suggestions.

J + J all the way.

If your wife is in F, they won't let you come and visit and 'stay just for a few hours'. So you will basically be traveling separately the whole trip.
Travelling together in J means you can share the baby load, take turns eating, manage bathroom trips etc.

I have traveled a few times in F and J with my toddler son and can assure you I would rather travel in J with my husband than in F without him!

- No visitors to suites, unless you are very lucky and they let you for a quick drink and a look see
- yes you can guest into F lounge in SIN but not TPR
- plenty of space in SQ J on 380 or 77W ( they are the biggest J seats on the planet) so my tip is take the J+J and share the baby minding duties you will both arrive must more rested

2 x business.

As others have said, visiting First class or suites is not generally allowed (maybe just before landing so you can both disembark together - if there are spare seats available).

in any event, while the 'suite' as a total is wide, the actual seat itself isn't anywhere near as wide as the business class 'squares'. Adult and baby can comfortably fit in a square (F class or business class), but the suites are different in design.

You wont regret 2 x J but there will be regrets if you do 1 x F & 1 x Y.

2 x J all the way! The seats are very wide.

J and J is the only reasonable solution for such long distance travel.

That said, I have booked F and Y for a relatively short SYD-SIN daytime sector with me in Y and the wife in F.

Thanks Alan for that comment, I knew it might make sense for some journeys but after the advice on here J + J definitely is the way we'll go to get all the way to Europe.
