Has anyone flown TG recently MEL-BKK and BKK-MEL in J ?
Is their config 6 across or 7 across ?

And is the seating still the angled flat sorta like the QF skybed mk1 ?

Cheers

Came home from BKK a few weeks ago.
777-200 and 6 seats across in J
Angled lie flat.
on a side note awesome service.

I did it 2 days ago. I found the 777-200 J cabin extremely spacious (heaps and heaps of free space). Enormous galley up the front. Seats are angled lie-flat 2-2-2 - not as good as their A380 fully-flat seats but not bad. Entertainment was good - I don't think you need 1000 channels for a 9 hour flight! Service consistent, loads and loads of food (5 courses for lunch).

Overall I was happy with the experience. TG is a good but not spectacular airline.

Hi Smit0847,

Thanks for your feedback.
Do know if its a hit and miss as to whether you get the 2-3-2 773 or 2-2-2 772 ?
Or are all the flights out of Melbourne 6 across ?

Cheers

I think it's always a 772? TG462 / THA462 Live flight info - Flightradar24

I liked sitting upstairs on the TG 747 SYD-BKK because its a 2-2 cabin with massive storage bins but to be honest the 772 cabin was so spacious I probably preferred it to the 747 - it feels really light and airy.

I don't know if it is 100% that config, but my last flights (MEL-BKK, BKK-MEL) were 2 from 2 for a 772 with 2-2-2 in J.

its never even close to be guaranteed with TG... they often swap aircraft around and you could easily end up with a 773.

there is no difference in the seating, just the aisles are super wide on the 2-2-2 version.

the bulkheads and row 12A/K offer slightly more legroom.

What do you mean no difference in the seating ?
Is the J cabin 2-2-2 in the 773 also ?

Also does anyone know what routes TGs 77W's fly (besides BNE) ?
Anywhere in Europe ?

the 773 has 2-3-2 seating, but the width and pitch of those seats is the same as the 772. you can preselect your seats so the only disadvantage is those who do not preselect might get stuck in the middle.

Thanks.
Would you say the comfort/angle of the seat in terms of sleeping is similar to what you get on the QF 333s ? i.e., Skybed mk1

there is a guide to tg's aircraft and which routes they operate (including services to Europe on the 77W) in the 'news' section if Thai's website.

Thanks.

pretty much the same i would imagine. i can't sleep on angled beds... if I'm flying TG on a two class aircraft the crew will happily reserve a set of three seats in economy (if available) which they make into a flat bed with business class duvets and pillows.

you would almost certainly fly sq if you had the choice (they have much better angled beds... wide and/or flatter)

So you have some sort of status with them eh :cool:
