First time to this discussion site,
I have just booked AKL/SYD/BKK/SYD/AKL with QF in Business but using EK for all flights.Seems that since July 1 2014 if you are not flying to DBX or LHR on QF you are not entitled to their Chauffeur service, also since the flights are on QF paper you also dip out on the EK Chauffeur service, "A NO WIN" situation, that in my opinion STINKS"
Would like to here if there is any way around this, apart from dropping the "PAX" loose all the time QF service and opting for EK for future flights, and join their frequent flyer programme.

Firstly welcome to AFF aedmartin. There has been a fair bit of discussion about about CD here on AFF especially when cancelled for US trips.

When flying EK you basically get the choice of EK benefits or QF status credits on the QF flight number.

I am sure someone will correct me, but I don't recall CD being offered on QF flights of less than a certain amount of time. I don't seem to recall BKK as a CD destination on the Roo.

I think you are correct. CD was only offered via DXB and on US flights with the latter being dropped last year.
Not sure what the OP's point is.

EK offer CD much more widely. I take it they'd prefer the EK benefits being as they're on EK flights.

Thanks for your input, but last year in July I did the same trip, again in J but I did do the DITCH crossings in the QF 737's and picked up EK out of SYD, got CD's on all sectors. It's a good lot of cash for not much return. It seems QF are bent on pushing PAX on to their code share partner.

And a belated discussion on an ancient topic. Different airlines offer different benefits and services. Can't see the problem, really.

I wonder what the significance of "DITCH" in capital letters was?

Ah price and value?... 4-6 paid QF J or F trips results in one free one. (Add credit card payment points + cabin bonus + status level bonus + loyalty bonus + actual flight zone points "based on simpler & cheaper booking class code").

So the idea is as a consumer is to pay the least to receive the highest value. Other people's money.....
If you really do want to fly QF then yes you pay more and get the delayed reward and no CDs
and since EK network has multiple Euro destinations then yea they get a commission for sending you EKs way which opens up chauffeur drive.

Given J & F get you lounge accesss the status credits become irrelevant and so the points earn really becomes more important because it funds the future free trips not the credits earn. And if you redeem for J & F you don't need the status. You get all the perks anyway !

Is a chauffeur really that important. Sure it's nice, but I'm just as happy in a cab. The 30 min cab ride is nothing compared to a 12 hour flight

One might also say if you can afford J/F then $100 for an airport transfer should also be affordable, and you're not paying it if you instead drive/get dropped off etc
