Thanks for the offer, however there is no rush, there are no OW carriers in my neck of the woods, so until I move to Australia in December there's no real need for the account anyways, to be honest I was originally trying to sign up to access the award search function when trying to book my seats to get home, and to avoid the AU residents joining fee (especially as hubby also needs to join). The first is sorted, and as for the second, it's still 172 days til I move (yes I'm counting) - so like I said no rush.
For the record, when I tried to join - I went to join frequent flyer page, filled in the details (using an o instead of ø in my county name) and clicked submit I get the following message:
