As I have posted on another thread we are looking to see Alaska Marine Highway. Looking at over May back June 2010. I have also posted that I thought QF Y+ was good value in 2009 when we got 2 for 1 sale.
I can see that V Aust have return Y+ for approx $1950 all in at the time we want SYD-LAX.
I am aware of posters views on LAX immigration but this looks a good option?
Have QF membership but no real status & bronze with Virgin

Look, LAX is OK - you may spend an hour getting though customs/immigration even though you may be straight off to Canada. IME, it's more like about 30-45 minutes. In some cases it's been 10!

BTW, my experiences are currently limited to TBIT and T4 only.

Thanks Serfty. Planning to have a couple of days at LAX each end. I have been through LAX twice before & although not great I feel I have been through worse experiences ( LAX was prior to 9/11 but was thru MIA not long after 9/11:shock:).

My experiences at LAX are a breeze compared to MIA.The only really long wait was going through security to get an AS flight when we went to Alaska.

Please forgive me ... I couldn't help myself.

On a more serious note, for just under $2k each I'd definitely give VA whY+ a try.

I'd definitely take it - it's been getting a couple great reviews. I'm hoping that the fare stays around for a little while so I can sample the VA Y+ product myself.

For the flight back home, LAX T3 is pretty dire I'm afraid - I wouldn't recommend getting to the airport too early, as there's very little to do after security.
