Hi

Back in 2006 I flew a OW RTW ticket with AA and did the 10,000 miles platinum challenge and got platinum for a year. Is that still around?

I have booked the following trip for folks and just signed the up for AAdvantage, thinking maybe they can pass the Plat challenge after first couple flights of following trip:

cool so its still on, where do you get info about it online?

So with the trip listed above for my folks, cause its all on AA ticket but flights operated by various OW airlines, they still get 100% points for each flight as they are in V class.

Therefore the following are the miles and thus by the time they reach CLT they would have completed the challenge and would get Plat level for JFK - LON .

That's correct but LIS-CLT will count for double miles as the double miles includes the qualification flight. As mentioned in the other thread it will make the 757 a little more bearable knowing it's worth double miles...
