Is requalifying for AA plat worth it ?.

My wife & I are doing a trip to USA with some internal flying , using FJ in J return & some AA flights in F.
By crediting my wife's flights to QF she can get to WP .
I was going to credit to AA but will only get to 36000 EQP & I need 50000 to requalify AAplat .
We will be doing other flying this year but these trips will be award flights & domestic QF flights that earn poorly.
Do members think it is best to forget about requalifying & instead credit mine to QF so I will get WP also ? .
We do travel together all the time so 1 WP would benefit the non WP partner .

If you always travel together there really is very little point in both being WP.
At the moment awards are better value with Aadvantage.Also with the QF changes to partner earning rates the earning on AA can be markedly better-eg on our MH flight this month I as an AA plat earnt 3 times the miles as msdrron who is the QFF WP in our family.

I agree with drron. If you do always travel together, then you're better off crediting to AA as you will get much better 'burn' rates from AA than you will from QF.

Thanks both for your help , can I ask .
1- if mrs Austff books 2 suitable QF ,J flights & we try for a upgrade to F ,will it make a difference to approval if we are both WP or only 1 WP ? .
2- is there an "easy" way to get an extra 14000 EQP so I do requalify AAplat ? .

Every time mrsdrron has applied to get us both upgraded from J-F as WP and I either NB or PS she has been successful-3 SYD-LAX,1-SYD-BKK before the demise of the kangaroo route.
