Air China has a lifetime platinum membership which need fly 1 million kilometers only on CA flights ( not any other Star Alliance flights)
If doing mileage run, it usually takes 150,000 AUD and two months achieve it.
However, I just find a speaky Air route that can only spend 50,000 AUD with 15 round flights (30 single flights) and of course two months to achieve it.
At the meantime, you will get 1,500,000 miles in CA program. If you use CA Miles to redeem Cathy pacific flights, you will get HKG-Europe first class round trip at the cost of 110,000 Miles. This CX first classround trip usually cost 10,000 AUD to 15,000 AUD. Within 1,500,000 Miles you will get at least 15 round first class to Europe value at from 150,000AUD to 225,000AUD.
But it is just a measurement. You cannot trade the Mile as actual money. And I have no needs to visit Europe so many times. But I can for sure use it for Asia to Australia or somewhere else.
At the bottom of my heart, I think it is the best deal to get an lifetime platinum membership for any major airlines in the world. And with Air China platinum, you would have all the privilege with Star Alliance and Cathay pacific. But I am not a rich. 50,000 AUD is still A big number. And this money could be directly used to buy first or business class. Then the membership previlege will be useless.
So is this lifelong platinum worth 50,000 AUD and two months?
