I can only do late on 6th ie 9 pm :shock:
I went online today to try to change my JASA to an earlier one but the cost was in silly figures :eek:
If there is drinks on that evening then my cunning plan is to rock up to the SYD J Lounge 2 hours earlier and bat my eyelashes (IIRC that plan has worked well in the past ;) )

So to progress this a little, people that have shown interest in the thread so far on a drinks event on the 6th September and whether they can come or not...

Casanovawa (me) - I can come on the 6th, but not sure I would stay till 9pm
Vitagen - Can come
Blue Chameleon - Can come
Cynicor - More than likely can come
Boeta - Don't know
Must Fly - Don't know
2impulsiv - Can't come on the 6th
Princess Fiona - Could come from 9pm, might try to get an earlier flight if drinks go ahead on the 6th

So where does everyone else stand on this and are there other Perth AFFers interested in this event, or perhaps at a more distant date, or both?

Yep the 6th Sept works for me and I'd certainly stick around to meet PF. Plus I'm on Rec Leave from the 10th so would be free the following week too.

So should we say the 6th then? I have a meeting that's just appeared so I can get there for about 7:30. I suggest this as the start time and others can bid accordingly. Do we need to book or anything or just meet up? I've not done one of these before...

And well we could start at around 6.30-7pm to allow everyone time to get out of work and get there, PF any further news on getting anythign early or will it be a lounge job prior to departure still...

And how about we make the venue the one that is more suitable to drinks can probably get a few snack type things if people hungry? Sounds like that was The Trustee??

I'm not sure how busy this place gets as not been there before, but maybe booking a table might be an idea...​
 
Planning to try and get the earlier flight from SYD. I think it's due to the footy finals and there's no JASA availability on SYD-MEL ( I'm on SYD-MEL-PER) I'm travelling carry-on so will ask nicely at the SYD J Lounge.
I'd love to come but don't worry about waiting for me if I'm late. I will update the thread on Thursday once I know if the earlier flights possible
 
Ok, seems the The Trustee Bar & Bistro (133 St George's Tce in the city) doesn't reserve tables just for drinks, so I guess its a case of turning up about 6.30pm and seeing what is available for those coming....

Sorry mate, I've won free tickets to the Beach Boys playing at the Dome tomorrow night... don't laugh.
So I'll be a late scratching I'm afraid. :(
 
I'm still up for it... But I think there will be like 2-3 people? Haha :)
 
I won't be in the CBD until 9 pm, no J seats on SYD-MEL flights before 2.30 :(
If anythings on I'm happy to turn up, and if not I'll have an early night and organise another trip to PER, maybe on the new DJ aircraft ;)

Meeting me is more awesome than 1.5 hrs in J... :)
 
I may be a scratching if this meeting goes on too long. Had a late one last might and an early morning today. Will update later.

Vitagen - I'm no alcoholic, but I'm still keen for a reason to have a drink. Still planning to be there from around 6ish.

Anyone other than Vit still keen?
 
Hmmm, just got to this after reading all the news on the Emirates tie up....

Seems the need for a Perth meeting wasn't that great eh... :)

No commentary about the company, but for such a small group and with the chance that it could all go awry, the hassles of getting in and parking and all probably out weigh the benefits as also feeling a bit iffy after a big night at the gym last night...

Maybe another time... PF enjoy your trip over...
