Is International terminal access possible at Sydney without flying?

The problem then becomes getting out of airside. Remember, Departures is a totally separate area from Arrivals. You'd need to explain your way out of the Departure area in a way that doesn't involve departing on an aircraft.

For some strange reason I thought may be some syrup of ipecac could be useful - who would argue with allowing a vomiting passenger to cancel a flight. But then I realised that if the whole point had been to enjoy the fruits of the Flounge then it would be rather a waste perhaps.

Richard.

Easy - just say there is a 'family emergency' you have to leave.

I guess that since this all happened yesterday it's a bit moot.

The only "cheapie" that may have been available would have been JQi SYD MEL departing 3:15pm.

After that, unless the booking was for HNL on JQ3, there's no Jetstar option.

Thanks for everyones help!
I ended up dropping them at the airport and shouting them lunch at Wagamama. They still had plenty of time to head into the Business lounge after that and enjoy all it had to offer. They should be in sunny London by now.

I don't think I would have bothered playing tricks to get airside, but if I was platinum and could have got them into the 1st lounge, maybe that would have been a different story ;) ...
