I'm on the Dash8 from NTL-BNE tomorrow and still unable to do online check-in. I called up the Premium desk this afternoon and they advised that there were issues online today and that QF were trying to fix it. Tonight still unable to get past Manage My Booking Screen.
Anyone else having trouble ?

This is the type of thing that happened to DJ the weekend before their system fell over.

OLCI not working for QF74 SFO-SYD tonight. but then I've never been able to OLCI out of SFO...:-|

 the mystery has been solved. Ticket was part paid for in Sep using a voucher over the phone, posted to Mascot. Turned up to NTL today and advised voucher never received and flights not ticketed. Bumped onto Deathstar flight at own expense  several calls to Premium desk to no avail. Advised to contact them on return and register complaint and ask for re-imbursement.

A similar thing has occurred to me before.

Anyone who attempts to OLCI and cannot, ring QF straight away, it sometimes means you haven't been ticketed as Princess Fiona experienced. This gives a few hours at least for it to be sorted...and hopefully you not having to be out of pocket for a new flight (even if you're reimbursed later).

Ouch! At least you made it up to BNE. The U2 tickets @ $350 each would have been a shame to waste!

Is there now a genuine issue with Qantas's online system? I get a timeout when I try to log in to FF. I can log into the "manage my booking" page with the booking number and surname but half the page doesn't load (including OLCI).

Well an 85 year old lady had no problems with OLCI for the DRW/PER flight this arvo & also scored the exit row then apparently refused to give up that seat when dropping of the bags at checkin.

When a flight is full OLCI sometimes randomly allocates exit row seats to people but why is it always someone elderly, under five feet or a child who's been booked as an adult???

Yes that is a hit and miss process. Need to make clear what the credit is being of set off against and send in courier or reliable postage. I have been caught here before but got a better response than you apparently

Should I ask for the points and SC ( all 10) that I would have received on the original QF flight to BNE?
I am going to submit an email to customer care and a follow up phone call on Monday

It wouldn’t have been hard for them to call you and tell you what the issue was at any time up to when you got to the airport, so I’d complain :p

Yeah ask for it. You were involuntarily re-routed due to a QF issue ... :)

For the last month or so when I check in online, precisely at T-24 for about 15 mins I get a screen when I attempt to choose seats saying something like:

"We cannot process you check-in at this due to a connecting flight. Please proceed to an airport counter."

I had not a single connection on any of these bookings. I called QF the first time who asked if I had any car rental, hotel bookings or anything else associated with the flights to which I replied no. Agent couldn't determine a cause and instructed me to just head to the airport.

As it has no happened on another 10 domestic sectors, I have learnt that it lasts for about 10-15 mins after check in opens, afterwhich I can check in as normal.

So you mean after 15 mins you are able to OLCI successfully?

I know there are sometimes issues with auxilliary segments ie hotels, cars etc booked through a GDS that may inhibit OLCI.

Other times travel agents who handle bookings for offshore & mining companies enter the charter flight into the pnr as an auxilliary segment which could be for a chopper flight from the rig to the mainland eg Truscott WA then another segment for the Metro from Truscott to DRW.

This could throw a spanner in the works also.
