Intl to Dom Transit - SYD vs BNE

Also last time in SYD the road was flooded, so the bus wasn't running, our transfer was tight, so AUD$27 in a taxi was the only solution.
Taxi not impacted by flooded road in which case train would have been the only option?

The staff at the terminal said to take a taxi and go the long way around to avoid the flood, taxi driver scoffed and drove the normal route and all way ok. But overall not a great experience with luggage and a tight turn around after an overnight flight.

One advantage of SYD INT to DOM transfer is that you go through the DOM security at the INT transfer lounge. You don' have to join the queue at the DOM terminal which is what happens at BNE and MEL. That said I still prefer MEL as it is just a walk away.

I would have to agree with the others above, we did both SYD and BNE last year. SYD was worse with all the construction and out of date signs. Also last time in SYD the road was flooded, so the bus wasn't running, our transfer was tight, so AUD$27 in a taxi was the only solution. BNE still not great, overall it makes me very happy with the MEL terminal integration.
$8.60 pp in the train. Trains around every 8 mins peak , or around 12mins off peak.

I’ve done international to domestic transfers in both SYD and BNE this year and the winner is MEL. Seriously, if you have to transfer terminals, avoid both SYD and BNE. Out of the two, however, I’d have to vote for BNE. SYD is better than it was now that it has the common transfer bus for all airlines (a no brainer!), but the transfer is more involved than BNE, mainly because SYD fails at signage.

If it were between BNE and SYD, I would take SYD, purely becasue the security is done at the Transfer lounge which is less crowded that the DOM terminals, even the priority at BNE Dom.
