I recognise there's a handful of individual threads around on similar, more specific ones but I was hoping people could post all the different tools that they are aware of that aid travel. For example, those to do with checking seat availability, flight delays, online itinerary planners, status of flights, etc. Sites might include checkmytrip.com, flightstats.com, etc. There seems to be a wealth of them out there but finding them can be a bit of a problem.

Here's a great website for finding cheap domestic fares within the USA and Canada: Orbitz: Cheap Travel, Flights, Hotels, Vacations, Car Rentals, Cruises
Be sure to tick the "nearby airports" check box. This site produced amazing savings when it substituted Buffalo airport (BUF) for Toronto (90 minutes away) for flights to and from San Francisco, New York and Vancouver.

It even tells you how many seats are left on each fare it finds.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

A few more from my collection - this is a useful thread

Currency Converter for 164 Currencies - useful feature: can convert on dates up to a decade or more in the past

Amadeus.net - the power behind your travel agency is now at your fingertips - links to several converters (time, length, temperature...), worldclock etc

Help for World Travelers -- Steve Kropla's page: especially useful for electricity system and plug guides.

CalendarsThatWork.com - How Everyone Ought to Do Printable Calendars - useful for drafting itineraries and meetings

cheers

Booking classes vary by alliance and/or airline. Qantas Class Types gives a good indication of most booking classes.

There was a detailed list published on this site but I cannot find it. There are also classes for awards and upgrades which I think are U, X and Z.

Is anybody aware of a website that can be easily accessed from a BlackBerry that allows you to check arrival and departure information of flights (worldwide)?

I don't know much about crackberry's as i have no desire to own one, but ExpertFlyer.com now has a mobile friendly version. Not really arrival/departure times as i think your looking for though.

Is there any sites that have all this info already ? maybe they have a mobile version.

You cannot use Flight Stats?

Sorry, I have no idea, or desire to learn, how a Blackberry works or how it accesses the internet!

Does anyone know if we can purchase airfares from Orbitz with an Australian address and credit card? I have a feeling that this is not possible.

I received a comical response from Orbitz. The short answer is not possible to book flights using an Australian billing address and credit card.

Why do US companies continue to treat Australians as second class people?

All I do when someone posts a new travel related website or tool that looks interesting is save it to my favourites. Here are some of the websites/tools I have collected.
