Seems there has been a change for AA to only offer the day pass internet (T-mobile) cards in the flagship lounges now although although in DFW the lady said as i was OWE she would give me one and thought that should always be the case although she did seem to think the policy was as i just stated, only in flagship lounges. SFO denied me a card :(
I work to AA to confirm but there web page does state on the flagship lounge page that you will get a card and nothing on the admirals club page.

May be useful info for anybody going to the USA.

The gogo in-flight internet seems to work well though (atleast for remainder 2009 pick up a free access card at the admirals club lounges), even VPN's work ok for terminal services sessions etc. Impressed.

Flagship lounges provide free internet

Admirals Club free internet is for Admirals Club members only; there is no entitlement to internet there. This isn't a change; if you have received them before, that has been outside of the AC policy

Yeah, I had the same experience and found what Dave said to be true. I wonder why reciprocal agreements with Qantas Club etc don't extend these benefits to QP members (including SG and WP), as it dilutes the value of those memberships considerably (as does the paid food / drinks).

On the other hand, WiFi does appear to be free at international Admiral's Clubs, which is handy. :)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The same applies, iirc, to those who use their Amex Platinum Charge card to gain admission to ACs. Free admission , but no free internet

The reciprocal arrangements allow for access; if wanting AC specific benefits , could always join the AC instead of the Qantas Club and then use that for internet access at ACs and for access to Qantas Clubs

The paid food at ACs is better imo than what Qantas offers in the Qantas Clubs. Would actually prefer to have a real food paid option in Qantas Clubs than what is offered for free tbh

Flagship Lounges do provide free internet - they used to hand out T-Mobile 24 hour cards, but more recently utilise temporary user-names and passwords (note on small slips of paper they hand out.) These are valid for a week or so and I have found can generally be used at any A/C until the password/user is changed ;)

Since my first USA port of call is generally LAX, I make it a point to obtain the cards/codes there.

I was told (at least at MIA) that it's for AC members only. When I asked about internet access they directed me to the computer lounge which meant I could use one of their computers to access the internet, but no wireless.

Was that at the MIA F/L or the A/C?

F/L i have always got the card.
The AC that i have in the past but not this trip, anyway i was really not that worried, 7.99 for 24hrs if you must use it, but just making a note for people as i thought the AC internet was standard until now.

Observation of the FT threads on this topic that come up regularly has made me aware that I should always try to get said access on arrival into LAX.

Note the 24 hour pass used to cost USD10, but seemed to last more like 48 hours ...
