International upgrade request within 24h

Hi all,

I have just been sent my e-ticket for a QF international flight tomorrow and have requested an upgrade but have been told that it is within 24 hours before the flight departs and so an upgrade request cannot be processed.

As a Gold QFF, are there any options available to get an upgrade for tomorrow's flight?

Yes you can pray for a free upgrade. I have been QFF Gold for 3 years and got a free one last Dec flying Mel-HKG. That's 1 out of 35.

Um... I want to use points for the upgrade.

Praying is your best bet.

The rules are specific in that Points upgrades cannot be requested in such a short time before the flight.

16.3 Flight Upgrades - for International Travel (on flights QF1-399)

16.3.1 Flight Upgrades can be requested for a specific flight and date by phoning Qantas or, if you hold an E-Ticket at this website, between 90 days and 24 hours before scheduled departure from the first port of the flight. Requests for Flight Upgrades will not be accepted within 24 hours of scheduled departure from the port of origin.

Have you checked the flight loadings on www.seatcounter.com ?
