Due to forum restrictions, I don't think I can comment on this. Yes $80 compared to a $3000 Business Class fare is not much, however for a economy fare of $299 to Bali that would mean a lot to ordinary families.

Maybe, but it’s also only $10 increase so it’s not really material even then

At the $299 end of the scale it’s more likely the airline will suffer than the family. Fares are driven by supply and demand not cost plus.

At the low end in some instances this will mean an excuse to put fares up $20. Sometimes $10. Sometimes the airline will have to absorb it all.

You could look at it that way...

BUT it also increased by $10 in 2024.
So it's going up $20 in 3 short years (33% increase)

Prior to that it only increased $13 in 16 years (2008-2024)
