Sorry if the answer to this is obvious somewhere - I've searched a fair bit, and unless I'm trying the wrong keywords, I haven't been able to find any answers.
My question is, when booking an international flight, why is the flight only offered in the currency of the country which the first leg departs from? For example, booking NRT-SYD from QF, I have to pay in JPY; LAX-AKL from NZ, is in USD. This is booking with the airline directly via their website.
Is there any way around this?
The reason I ask is I'm looking to book some flights from the US to NZ, and with current exchange rates it seems disadvantageous to pay in USD as opposed to NZD.
Thanks in advance.
