International Driving Permits/Licences

And just to add, my SIL went to go Go-Karting in Japan - wasn't able to as didn't have an IDP, despite having her OZ DL...

When I went to Jeju in South Korea last year I was able to use just my IDP and passport to rent a lovely Genesis G90 at Lotte Rent a Car. I thought it quite strange that they did not ask to see my license, although I had gambled on the fact that they would not ask.

I was still on my provisional license and had less than a year of driving experience at the time. We were in Seoul for a concept car project with Hyundai/Kia, and after the experience I told myself I would definitely try take the G90 for a spin!

The G90 was very lovely to drive and it is a real shame they don't sell it here. I did venture to the Genesis showroom in Emporium Melbourne where the sales associate mentioned that the G90 shooting brake would be coming sometime next year, hopefully fingers crossed for that!
