Interesting QF 747 Cabin Assignment

Just noticed a QF 744 flight sold as 3-class, operated by 4-class with the following cabin assignments:
Business Class: F cabin and Upper Deck
Premium Economy: Lower-deck Business Class cabin rows 23-26
Economy: Business Class cabin rows 29-30, Premium cabin rows 34-39, Economy cabin rows 51-75.

So some lucky economy passengers could score Skybeds for an overnight flight! I am booked in R class (Y is sold-out) with a Skybed selected.

Unfortunately no such luck for my outbound (booked as a B fare), with a 3-class aircraft operating with usual cabin assignments. But at least that is a day-time flight.

The example I reference is QF52 on 22 July.

But as always, aircraft type can change.

I suppose there are some benefits to living in a port with no F fares! And its nice to see the 744 back on this route, I have caught it a couple of times heading over work this week just after take off!

I had this MEL to HKG, sat in 4K, J service but very nice. Well until the seat broke and wouldn't recline any more.

Was most amusing watching the staff try and fix it

BNE-LAX has the rear two rows of Business and the entire Premium Economy cabin allocated to high-tier Economy passengers when its operated by an ER which has been often since JAN.

Makes SYD-xBNE-LAX a very attractive Y routing. If only QF flights to US are closer to the $1000 than $2000.
