I have been looking at instant upgrade fares the past few days. Today I notice they have jumpted from US$1607 to US$2034.

Was there a sale on I was didn't know about, or has instant upgrade fares just gone up?

The fares vary due to market conditions (e.g. another airline having a sale) and there's no telling when a fare will jump/decrease.

I keep an eye on the FT MR forum - that's a good source of these specials (noting the difference between AA EQP's and QF SC's).
