I'm planning a trip to Agra to see the Taj Mahal and would love some advice on the best time of year to visit. What months offer the most pleasant weather and least crowded conditions? Any tips for making the most out of the experience would be greatly appreciated!

Don’t know what the best time of the year is, probably later in the year (Oct/Nov?). But avoid this time of year and the coming monsoon period. Today’s weather:

I went twice, first thing in the morning and then in the late afternoon, to take photos in the different light. There were less crowds at those times compared to the middle of the day. A euro-dude buying a ticket ahead of me did his nana over the tourist pricing.

We visited in April 2019 and the weather was fabulous. I don’t remember it being too hot but we did go at sunrise for the light and to beat some of the crowds.

I can highly recommend staying at the Taj Hotel and Convention Centre. Doesn’t have great street appeal but it is a great hotel with a really good rooftop bar and pool with views of the Taj. IMG_0279.jpeg57692893175__A68BA46F-0BBC-4D73-9B3D-4181D4D542A4.jpeg

Welcome to AFF @holaindia02 .

Besides extreme heat, the one thing you want to watch out for visiting Mumbai, the Taj Mahal and Agra is fog. This is mainly prevalent I think between December and February.

The fog will probably clear during the day, but you won’t get the beautiful morning photos.

I think you mean smog ;)

Their summer time is when the air is the clearest, but also the hottest.

I was just there in mid-February and the weather was perfect, clear and sunny and around 25C during the day. We stayed in Delhi and did a day trip to Agra that I highly recommend. Delhi to Agra on the train, guide and driver for the day took us to the Taj, Agra Fort and Baby Taj. The whole day was very well organised and the guide was excellent. Also lots to see in Delhi.
