Just a data point for those who may be interested, CX agreed to status match my QF WP to MPC gold (which I know isn't the same, but better than nothing).

Who did you email zainman to get that happening? If you've got an email contact then please PM me! Thanks

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Suspect BAEC may work for you given long haul flying
as others mentioned, maybe AA and given you go to Canada, maybe can tag on some AA challenge to get EXP...

How far off are you to retain WP?

Wonder how the exotic programs like TAM, Jordanian are...

already retained WP, LTG so not much incentive to stay with QF FF if I cannot retain OWE (or get LTP, which is not on the list of benefits)

To get from bottom to top of MPC (as they wont status match you) you'll need to fly 210,000 miles – as every time you git a new level your membership year resets – and there's no discount on requalifying each year, of 120,000 miles. If you fly CX, they look after their own very well, but if you don't, I'd consider another program. You should also take into account where your credit card points can be moved to, as points without status can make it hard to use them!

I appreciate this answer. I too am investigating alternatives to QFF, so looked closely into MPC as I could fly them a lot to Nth America in J. I saw the requirement to go back to the beginning every time you go up a status level and then you climb to the next one, and thought I must be mis-understanding it. Unfortunately not. That's a heap of miles to get to the top. I'm currently doing about 180,000 miles pa, but that's everything.

So that particular paddock isn't greener!

If it is not possible to retain QF WP and are already LTG it is probably sensilbe to investigate *A loyalty programmes as it seems the local programmes are not longer viable for many of us.

If you haven't already take a peep at BAEC. Given your need to travel to LOTFAP lounge access via OWE might come in handy. BAEC OWE requirement looks pretty easy to satisfy!

OK. Will do, ta. I even have a convenient UK address to use :) But LTG on QFF gets me 'regular' (non F) lounge access in, say LAX, doesn't it?

Apologies for the late response. See below:

How did you apply for it?.

I emailed my local CX office in KHI. They asked for evidence of previous travel on CX (which I had but credited to QFF). Also just general questions about how often I travel etc etc. I recommend emailing the local CX office in your city first and see how you go!

i too got status matched QF WP-> MPC gold 2 weeks ago, easy process i just e-mailed marco polo which i wasnt even a member then, and haven't even flown CX last year just sent my last years activity statement and a copy of my qff card and lo and behold 2 days later they e-mailed me saying "sorry that they could only matched me to gold at this stage" and told me to join asia miles for free and it would be linked to my new mpc gold card which would be sent in 2 weeks time :).

I wonder if QF would ever do something like that! ;)

Is this possible from Aus? Have they changed to rules or re-opened the ANZ programme?

If you have an American express card you can get a us address for free by signing up with myus.com a freight forwarder based in Florida. I just did this and opened accounts for myself and my family ("household account") last night.

Travelling to HKG next weekend, we have a day layover to catch up with our Aussie friends there, next day doing EK to DXB, as a Q Plat can I still use the CX lounge or is it still the case must be flying on a OneWorld career to do so?.

Must be a OW operated and marketed flight, so QF and EK lounges only.

EK is not part of oneworld so you will not be able to use the CX lounge.

However, QF has just opened their new HKG lounge :))

Thought as much.

Will give them a whirl again on way back to OZ on CX.
