Mrs Mandja and I are off to India in 3 weeks and by late December plan to be in Kerala.......but I've just read that there is an outbreak of bird flu there now

reports say that humans haven't been affected ..yet , and that 150,000 birds have been destroyed.
im worried, the wife less so.
how have outbreaks elsewhere been treated by tourists
should we still get on a houseboat or avoid the area?

We were in Vietnam at the time of an earlier outbreak. We has eggs available but with no chicken available the food choices were restricted. No impact on our travel other than that.
I am sure you will enjoy the Kerala houseboat. Photo showing our boat back in 2007-loved the velour lounge:)
