I know airlines can be quite fusy about the names of pax in a booking matching their passports exactly, but what about gender?

By mistake, I know of someone who had their ticket issued as "Mr" when in fact she is a "Mrs". Wrong gender!

Everything else is correct as per passport.

Is this a problem?

It would be advisable to contact the airline and let them now of the error.

I had this issue with QF once. Booked over the phone and the pax name was written as Mr Ruby instead of Mrs Ruby. You'd think that would be fairly obvious... but no

QF tried to charge me a reissue fee, however after pushing the point for a bit they let me off with it.

Perhaps, though, if it was booked online and was clearly your doing they may not be so easy to persuade. I'd suggest you get onto it sooner rather than later.

I have recntly experienced with a worker travelling with me that his last name (a dutch name - van...etc) was spelt wrong, ended with a M instead of a N

this was fixed free of charge, no fuss at the airport (SYD and SIN) in just a few minutes... they simply made the change by hand then stamped the BP with some special stamp...

no fuss, no worry

Mr!

I booked my mum on a flight a month back and only when I saw the final itinerary I noticed she was a Mr. I must have accidentally selected that on the pop-up menu. I didn't worry about as it was only a domestic flight, was sure she could handle it.

Actually I forgot about it and only just remembered it when I saw this thread title!

I have seen this on a domestic (QF) ticket. I advised the airline and they said not to worry as all the other details were correct. I would be more concerned though if it was International.

Just be ready to say "How Dare you accuse me of being a man/woman"

I didn't think the title of a person was that relevant and it is a bit rich for an airline to ask for a change fee if there was a mistake. A woman can have a title of MRS/MISS/MS and either one used is correct.

I wouldn't try it on with the TSA though.
