Regretting not booking a second trip before the merger.
Great value and great destination!
Highly recommend to anyone awaiting their GUM booked trip!

Guam is a great destination as i discovered on recent US redemption. In fact if United still flew direct from Cairns id happily pop over very couple of years. The colour of the water is a dream.

Good to hear, I have a trip booked in September.
I think JAL fly there via NRT so you can still use USDM miles.
Enjoy your trip :)

And I've got a trip booked in November.
Looking forward to it.

Rent a car and take a drive. I got a Guam GPS app for 2 or 3 $ which was basic but got me around. I got it from Blakes

Good tip. Booked a hire car through Avis UK for my Hotel (hilton) tomorrow for $55.

Gonna take a drive up to ritidan point. I hear the road is in sh*thouse condition up there though.

What GPS app did you use? I brought my USA garmin with me but guam wasn't on it.

I believe UA still does fly CNS-GUM..

Is this no longer available via USDM?

I am struggling to make a SYD-NRT-GUM itinerary on QF/JL and have tried 5 agents. Purchased my miles prior in order to make these bookings. Wondering whether to dispute the miles purchase via AMEX given that it we can't use it to make the award bookings promised on the chart (Au to Guam).

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Did you try to book via HKG?
I did boomy; I've tried Au-HKG-NRT-GUM and Au-NRT-GUM. It's not an issue with award availability but, rather, that maximum permitted mileage gets exceeded. Apparently they run all awards through a computer to "check mileage" then, when that flags the mileage, they call their fares desk which tells them that the award can't be done.

Perhaps the NRT stop is causing it to fall over.

Has anybody had any luck booking a OW redemption Au-GUM?

Would anyone have any thoughts whether it may be a good place / opportunity to buy an Apple laptop of some sort there as being cheaper than here? It's just a thought bubble at the moment. Perhaps there are guarantee problems.

Can a USDM award still be booked for AU to GUM via Japan? I note a few people having difficulties with a OW award but can I still book an award on other USDM partners to take advantage of this loophole?

This may get an answer in the USDM thread questions, and also have a look at the USDM successful bags thread. Best of luck.
