I stayed at a 25hours hotel in Frankfurt (The Goldman hotel) over the weekend, my first time staying at this Accor brand. I have to say, I was really impressed.

The room rate wasn't expensive (in fact, at around €65/night it was marginally cheaper than the dive I stayed at in Dortmund the previous night) but the room was large, well designed, clean, colourful and overall just really nice.

The hotel has a unique and funky design, with a cool bar on the ground floor and great staff. But perhaps the thing I'll remember the most is that the whole experience of staying there was actually fun! Such a refreshing change from the usual choice of a budget or a corporate hotel.

The minibar was stocked with beer, cola, water and crisps, all of which were free.

I'm an Accor silver member, and there was a handwritten note from the staff waiting in the room with some gummi bears.

There's a bluetooth speaker you can connect your device to, and they even let you borrow a designer handbag during your stay. (Not my thing, but ladies may appreciate this?)

The "do not disturb" sign gives you a choice of 25 different messages.

Very happy with this stay and I will now actively seek out 25hotels brands in the future.

Nice report! Certainly an improvement over their competitor MotelOne… also a ‘budget’ chain at around €79 a night with nice new bedrooms and bathrooms… but lacking some of the basics like fridge or tea and coffee in the room.

I’d certainly swap from MotelOne to 25 Hours!

Looks to be very good value @Mattg :) I'd never heard of the Goldman brand before and I'm ALL Diamond!

With some new train connections apparently happening next year for Frankfurt/England etc , hoping to have some more Frankfurt trips .
Is the location close to a train station ?
This looks like an excellent hotel , great deal

I was also interested in this hotel as a possible place to stay in Frankfurt on our next trip. The hotel's website says

"Public Transport

The hotel is situated only a few minutes’ walk away from the Ostbahnhof station (U6), and the Osthafenplatz tram stop (Line 11) is right outside the hotel."

Using Google Earth directions it is about a 600 metres/8 minute walk from the station. As it also said the tram line runs just outside the door and a stop seems to be about 20 metres away. The tram seems to be the best way to move around Frankfurt itself from there. There are however plenty of direct trains to/from Frankfurt Airport. I had booked a hotel not far from there for a covid cancelled trip in 2020.

As an aside I looked at the prices for this hotel in Mid-August when we thinking of being there and they were about three times as expensive as paid by MattG! It turns out that there is a major event on in Frankfurt from 22 - 26 August 2022. Obviously a good time to avoid trying to stay in or around Frankfurt.

"ACHEMA is the leading global trade fair for the process industry. It is held in Frankfurt Messe every three years. The event is one of the largest trade fairs in Germany. The numbers speak for themselves: nearly 167,000 visitors, 3800 exhibitors from more than 100 countries take part in ACHEMA."

Thank you so much @OZDUCK
I have points to spend lol :)
No worries. I do recall that the Ostbahnhof itself did not seem to have very good connections with the rest of Frankfurt as it does not really tie in with the local transport net very well. But that tram would make all the difference. According to a Frankfurt friend the area around the hotel is now very interesting with lots of recent re-development.

Now this looks fun! And so German! (Although I'm not sure any amounts of designer handbag loans and free minibar perks could make up for having to sleep next to that artwork!).

It's a pity their hotel in Paris, where I'd be most likely to stay, is not in a very desirable location. Handy for catching the Eurostar the next morning though but that'd be about it. I'll wait until I'm able to get to one in Germany. Thanks for the review @Mattg, and for advertising it's Accor.

The hotel is a short walk from Ostbahnhof (end of the U6 line). From Hauptbahnhof it took around 20 minutes to get there with one easy change at Hauptwache (where you just walk across from the S-Bahn to the U-Bahn on the opposite platform).

Or just take the 11 tram, as someone else said.

Yeah, it's always a good idea to stay in Frankfurt when there isn't something on at the Messe!

We must be travelling at a similar time. We found the same & have now planned to stay in Hann Munden for our first night

Yes we have definitely dropped any thoughts of staying in Frankfurt at that time. We were there during the 2011 Car show which my daughter and her partner attended. They, especially he, had a great time at the Exhibition Grounds despite the huge crowds. Luckily for us we were all invited to stay with our friends at Bad Homburg. About 25 minutes out of town so no hotels to worry about and they could catch the S Bahn to just outside the showgrounds.

I had never come across Hann Munden before but it looks like a very pretty town.

Bit late but yes I attend this event every 3yrs and the hotel prices are always 3-4x normal

There’s one of these supposed to open in 2023 in Paddington (Darlinghurst end) in Sydney. The site has been cleared for several months now with not a lot of signs of construction however.
