Important Login Changes to Your KrisFlyer Membership Account

Introduction of Email and Password Login for KrisFlyer Membership Accounts
We will enhance the security of our members’ accounts and improve the login experience by introducing the following two changes from 24 September 2019:
  1. You will have the flexibility to log in to your KrisFlyer membership account using the email address registered with your account, or continue to log in to your account with your 10-digit KrisFlyer membership number.
  2. The current 6-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) used for KrisFlyer member login will be replaced with a password* login. You will be prompted to update your PIN to a password when you next log in to your KrisFlyer membership account.
What to do before 24 September 2019
  1. If you would like to use your email address to log in to your KrisFlyer account, please ensure that the email address registered in your KrisFlyer profile is unique to your account and is not shared with another KrisFlyer member account.
  2. Ensure that the mobile number and email address registered with your KrisFlyer account is kept up-to-date, as a SMS/email will be sent to your mobile number/email address as part of the two-factor authentication (2FA) process, before you will be able to change your PIN to a password.
  3. Your current PIN will still be used for verification purposes, should you contact KrisFlyer Membership Services, and will be renamed as "Phone PIN".
  4. *Password must include alphanumeric and special characters.

Thanks for that info Coriander. How did you come by it? e-mail, or message after log-in? I'm getting neither ATM.

I received as email. We will be OS at time of change and hope their email authentication works!
 
Small frustration here. I changed my password on the website as prompted and now can't login to the iOS app. I've shot them a tweet - let's see what they say.
 
Did you delete it or just log out? Logout/in did not work for me.
 
I also tried that but it has not worked. The app is still wanting a 6 digit pin.
 
I am going to give it another go. I am wondering if my log in details are being confused by either the keychains or touch ID.
 
I'm now getting a one-time pin when trying to access my account on the Singapore Airlines website. This could get rather annoying.

And the password requirements are pretty odd too: must include special character.
 
I prefer pin for the phone app. A lot easier to enter if it's just 6 numbers rather than 8-16 characters inc upper case and special character.
 
Just tried to change my password as I had capslock on when typing my new password. The SQ website is sooooooo frustrating!

Tried changing password but error came up saying I had to make a new Phone pin before I could change password. Tried to add/change Phone Pin but then another error came up saying it had to be different from previous pin used on the account pre-24th Sept. So I used a new pin, then changed it back to my old pin.

Went back to changing my password and tried to do my password properly without capslock and obviously (duh!) can't use a previous password (even different caps), so made a compeltely new one in the hopes that I could change it back after. So after changing the password 3 times you can go back and use an old password.

Don't get why we have to use alphanumeric passwords. I understand it's more secure than a PIN, but when it still request OTP to access sensitive areas of our profile (e.g. changing passwords), what is the point. Couldn't they just leave our original pins and have OTP straight after?

These sorts of rules for passwords were debunked as nonsense YEARS ago: it is disgraceful and alarming that SQ is introducing them now. I am composing a fairly vitriolic note to them about this..

I know I'm not going to remember mine, so I've written it out and taped it to tbe back of an old KF card which has my equally-un-memorable KF number on it. And I do remember where I keep that card:)
