My partner has a NZ passport and myself UK, when travelling through UK/ europe will they allow us to enter together in the nationals line or will we have to join the foreigners line?

Any experiences for following countries appreciated
UK
Italy
France

In the UK I usually take my AUS wife through the UK queue with me and it's usually no probs even though she kept her surname.

Not sure how they will treat you if your partner is the same sex or arrived by boat (Hopefully better than OZ) ;-)

Try the nationals line. The first time in LHR no problem walked with my partner now wife. The next time "no go" as she was still on her maiden name and I said we were here to get married (it was a blessing for the UK family as we were already married), didnt have a copy of the marriage certificate handy, they said where were was the visa and almost put me on the plane to go home.. probably back to NZ to boot, NZ passport. If you wear a ring try and have that on the right fingers, it may make the difference ;)

PS Italy, from the UK I dont think they even checked my passport.
France (on a bus) no check either but they recommended they you have the passport available:arrow:
