I'm in the VA Lounge thread

Nipped into the VA MEL lounge after my domestic flights for before my transfer to the international terminal. I needed to fortify myself for the international security screening. I didn’t need to worry in the end - there was barely anyone there. But it did give me a chance to compare coffees in the VA and SQ lounges. VA wins hands down.

Chicken wraps and carrot cake were on offer at 11.30 am in the VA lounge. It’s the same carrot cake on offer in the SQ lounge. I wonder if it’s an airport wide bulk buy.
probably the ole Sara Lee carrot slab

Melbourne lounge Thurs for lunch. Chicken or tuna wraps, minestrone soup, cold bean salsa with corn chips, carrot cake, bread rolls. Half empty - even when the Bombers dropped in for a quick bite before their flight to Perth. Bar opened at midday - beer was extra cold :)

Darwin lounge still closed and seems to now be the airline flight crew lounge as only flight crews going in and out by way of their ID pass

Sydney Lounge Friday night was quite busy, food was average. Tuna wraps, salad and soup. My flight got canned and I needed up on a 9am flight yesterday.

Saturday Morning lounge was good. Bacon and Eggs on offer. No sauce thou. Almost missed the flight as they didn't call it over the PA. Only noticed that it was in final boarding status when I looked at the screens in the terminal.

In the SYD lounge for the next 30-40 minutes waiting for VA985. Can guest 2 in if needed.

Butter chicken with basmati rice and pumpkin, coconut and almond butter soup on offer.

Security took 15 minutes to clear, and lounge is 2/3-3/4 full...

Melbourne lounge this afternoon/early evening. Wraps and pasta, minestrone soup and a tasty Thai green chicken curry soup (had seconds). Betty's Burgers started around 5:00 or 5:30 at a guess but every time i looked the queue was 20 deep so missed out. Lounge was half full early arvo but started getting busy from 4-ish. Premium security lane was open and fast. Very friendly reception staff.

In Perth lounge now. Not too busy and plenty of food coming out. Couple of soups and some some sausage rolls.

I'm not into alcohol so soft drink for me, yet somehow they have ruined the Coca cola mix, at all 3 points, just super watery and not great. To small of an issue to complain? Disappointing but not the end of the world..
