I'm in the QF Lounge thread

Brisbane lounge opened at 0700 on Saturday morning, not the normal "Open one hour prior to each Qantas operated service". Cairns flight departed at 0730 and Mackay and Townsville prior to 0730.

Thank you for the heads up.

Excited to get in there on Tuesday...pending it is open for our 10:15 flight!

How was it?

Good luck. Seems very hit and miss. Daughter last week - supposed to have business lounge access. And neither lounge open!

Sorry about the late report.

Been flat out!

QF lounge BNE was open on 1st leg to FRA via SYD 21st July.

Barista coffee available.

Limited pre plated cold snacks, fresh danishes and fruit platters.

Also a hot breakfast option was available which I did not take up. Beans, scambled eggs, bacon, etc.

Showers were closed, loads of staff at the time and maybe 15 guests in the lounge.

On a side note....I am on international travel for work...I don't recommend coming and leaving from Aus, nightmare even with pre-approval. I am happy to base myself at home in Hungary indefinitely for ease of future travel.

I was in the BNE J lounge this morning (departing for NTL). 0730 on a Monday - usually peak time, but today was a ghost town with ample seating. Hot food options were pancakes or scrambled eggs on toast.

Not terrible but a bit frustrating not being able to pour your own OJ etc. I'm not sure how this model is going to work when the QP opens.

Flying just isn't fun at the moment. I was happy to get home - so many flights to NSW cancelled I was worried I might get stuck. Probably my last trip for a while, I'd say the days of regional NSW being welcomed in QLD are numbered.

I was at BNE this morning about 10am. Very quiet. Lovely staff wandering around offering toasties and other hot food..coffee still very good. One punter was abit disappointed he couldn’t get a glass of wine at that time of the morning! Flying to TSV for work...first flight in soooooooo long

I'm in the ADL QP for the next 2 hours or so. Very quiet but plenty of food and coffee available.

The BNE J lounge was teeming at 6am this morning. Line for coffee was 12-people long. But there were some very decent hot breakfast options.

TSV lounge on Sat morning..quiet but still only allowed to bring in 1 guest. Hard to get used to being served by the staff. Pancakes were fresh and warm. Coffee good - i was allowed to take one out to my other guest who couldn’t access the lounge

Am sitting in SYD domestic Business Lounge, 16 passengers and 6 staff, only 9 flights listed on the departure board (5 intra-state, 4 interstate), never seen the airport so empty.

Missed out on breaky, a selection of sandwiches, salad or soup on offer.

Wasnt able to select seat, only choice of aidle or window.

Flying QF from Syd at 0830 next Wed, a regional flight. Is the Syd lounge open? Website says "from Sept" but also "closed." I'm not a QFF (I'm a Velocity plat) but was considering buying a pass online to try it out.

When i flew on Sunday the SYD Qantas Club was closed and everyone with lounge access was being directed to the SYD Business Lounge. You had to scan your boarding pass and sanitise your hands to enter. Coffee / Drinks / Food selection delivered to where you were sitting. I imagine they will only have one lounge open unless it much busier on a week day.

CBR J lounge this morning, got here at 0700 just as it was opening. Very quiet as expected with only 2 flights this morning. Plenty of room and a pretty stock standard menu, order at counter and brought to your seats. Pancakes were great as was the fruit salad, coffee was pretty average though and served in paper takeaway cups only

And still the same service this morning. Plenty of room and a nice choice of food. The coffee is especially nice this morning - MrsK is now happy

And now in Sydney QF J lounge, waiting for our flight to Ballina. Really eerie walking through what seemed like a deserted terminal. We had a nice welcome though, temperature check, questions about whether we had been in Victoria, and a gold star sticker. Lounge is virtually deserted as well, but a friendly service.

What was the gold star for?

For passing the temperature check, and not having travelled from Victoria I think. It was just as well, as there were half a dozen police standing around I think looking for something to do. If think if I had given given a wrong answer I would have been whisked away

Same last Tuesday when we went CBR-SYD-ADL.
Nice young girl took a few details, asked a few questions and gave us a blue star (might change them every day) We went straight through but saw probably a dozen or so NSW Police personnel.
One family was directed towards the police and then I saw them taken down to a small area for further questioning.
Took me nearly an hour to get back through ADL though 🤬

This must be a reasonably new feature or perhaps contingent on time of day. I travelled 2.5 weeks ago and no temperature checks, stars, police etc at the lounge. Was greeted with a nice chat and to see if I had any queensland government connections to get the border open 😂
