Did Qantas get some sort of bulk escalator replacement deal? It's bad enough in SYD you need to walk well past the J lounge to use the QPub escalators and then walk back; but in MEL you have to take stairs to leave.

I'm no engineer but surely an escalator is not a particularly complex machine, why months to refurb/replace them?

For years bacon was misssing in the SYD J lounge with only insipid chicken sausages on offer, that has thankfully improved over past year, but seems the bland chicken sausages have now usurped bacon in MEL.

We at Qantas really would like to Rope You into the J lounge



but will make do with the inconvenience of “replacing escalators” instead of the ‘Batclimb”
