IHG Rewards extending all members’ elite status through February 2023

Just saw this article on FB. I don’t recall hearing about this further extension and haven’t received anything directly from IHG but welcome news if true.

IHG Rewards Extending Elite Status (Again)

IHG Rewards will be extending elite status for a second year in a row, through February 2023. Here are the full details.

Renew your Ambassador membership and stay at Spire for as long as you are ambassador. Get a BOGO which all but pays for the membership

Not sure it has been implemented yet (and the Feb bit seems a bit strange)

I can confirm that my Gold Elite membership has been extended to Feb 23. I got in touch with IHG and asked them.

“Has” or ‘will be’?

My account is still saying status expiry 31 Dec when I click through on “2021 Track to Elite Status”. I’m assuming the status extensions will be processed on or around then.

Mine's not changed yet either, but I'll keep an eye on it.
