Dang. I accidentally hit save before I'd finished uploading the photos.

Anyway, the managers at both hotels told me I should also have tried Da Nang Intercontinental. Have a look at it on-line. Michael Roux is the chef there. I stayed elsewhere in Da Nang which was really good, but I'll be going back! I made up my own itinerary and tried a big variety of apartments, resorts and hotels and really nailed it. If you need any advice, say the word. Independent travel in Vietnam is fun and pretty easy

Awesome that looks great. Will PM some questions!

Any sign of Thailand hotels joining the program?

Sales pitch mentioned end 2014. Hmmm.

I got a tout call today and she mentioned "we're just waiting for Thailand (and somewhere else) to join the program....". Make of that as you will.

Continue to wait patiently in other words.

I have $100 dining credit and trying to work out where to use it. Not sure if it is one $100 credit or 2 x $50 credit. Need to check.

I got a tout call today.

I was just thinking about this, the tout said as I was platinum already, I wouldn't receive any status upgrade, yet last night I received an e-newsletter from HI which discussed the new Rewards Club program and that stated "Starting now, we’ve introduced a new membership level" so I also checked the web page which also says "Beginning now, it will be easier for you to take your membership to the next level", so upon checking the Dining Rewards offer for status upgrade it says "An instant status upgrade in IHG[SUP]®[/SUP] Rewards Club" and goes on to state "Current Dining Rewards members with an IHG[SUP]®[/SUP] Rewards Club membership will instantly become Gold Elite, and existing Gold Elite members will be upgraded to Platinum Elite". There is no mention of those with Platinum already, which would be understandable as the new membership tier was not available at the time the Dining Rewards program was instigated........however, I can't see any reason why a platinum member shouldn't now be upgraded to the new tier as they do clearly state one of the benefits being "an instant status upgrade". Can anyone else see any clauses that prevent it? Has anyone been awarded the new tier (by any method)?

In the New Tier FAQs about expiry it mentions that Ambassador members will automatically be either Gold or Platinum. It doesn't say that buying Ambassador if already Plat would get you New Tier. I'm guessing that it wouldn't and suspect Dining rewards would be the same

I'm not really referring to ambassador gifted status or the "leg" up by buying both. I'm meaning existing platinum elites (either amb or not) getting a status upgrade with the purchase of the DR option (as per the DR program spiel) to the new tier which according to their own web pages has already started, despite the fact the T&Cs don't yet appear to be altered to reflect the program changes.

The new tier hasn't started yet - it starts in July. As far as I know, the only thing said for sure so far is that Royal Ambassador members will be at the new level. How Ambassador and IHG Dining members will fit into it all remains to be seen. The thing that started now was the clock on point expiration, and on May 1, the changes to award levels.

Hi anyone used the dining rewards card at IC Adelaide and what restaurants and bars accept it.
Cheers

Thanks for the reply. So the bar does not accept it? Is there a list somewhere? Thanks again
Sorry I don't think the bar is included, last time there I asked where the dining rewards could be used. I'm sure there must be a list of restaurants and bars included in the dining rewards program. Good luck. Enjoy

Hi Muppet so you used it in the bar with no issues? Was this for just drinks or food as well? Going there in a couple of hours. Cheers

I had a burger and a drinks at the bar. they were all over it - no issues.
I did have initial rejection at the holiday inn flinders on the weekend until she asked her manager.

There's no requirement to eat, so if they try that ask them to point to the T&Cs that confirm it.
The list of eligible restaurants is on the dining rewards participating hotel page and the Adelaide IC bar is there.
