Its one question as to what would constitute a business trip overseas (ie is attending a conference or arranging meetings with people sufficient justification etc, etc) But i am more talking about if you wanted to fund your own travel over there, say if your workplace didn't want to pay for you, but if instead of buying yourself a plane ticket you bought points and then an award...
As such its not really a work issue (like i said i would need to find out what the requirements are to justify claiming it as tax deductible in the first place and i'm sure they could probably comment on the legitimacy of self funded travel) but more the mechanism of getting the ticket via points (which i doubt they would know off hand) and just wondering if any people on here had done that or considered it...
i could go ask the ATO, just thought someone here might have done it... or not...
