It F1 Ibis Budget, so no points earn or real benefits

... but the price! And cancellable @24 hours.

Just booked 3 nights at Brisbane Windsor for Oz Fest for $144 total.

Sale finishes Sunday night (28th) for bookings until March 2022.

FYI, these are the Windsor rooms. Stayed in a moment of madness before I realised they were non-earning. Subsequently chose somewhere not much more expensive that was elite qualifying.

Do the Ibis Budget still count towards the "1 Stay per year" quota to keep your points valid?

I guess it's bigger than a capsule hotel.

I stayed as Anshin Oyado Premium Inn, 200 metres away from Shinjuku station.

¥4000 included awesome Japanese konbini snack breakfast, an awesome sento bath, "complimentary" hot & cold non alcoholic beverages from a vending machine, a clunky but free massage chair and a manga library.

I did similar at some of the Ibis Budgets in Warsaw and it was fine.

They look perfectly adequate for a one night stay IMO. Max 2.
Luckily I was doing a mattress run where I had a perfectly reasonable bed I owned not far away. The unfortunate thing is I didn't get a photo of the bathroom, and that truly was a shock! I was glad I wasn't staying.

I think if I was visiting a foreign city and wanted to maximise money spent on experiences, perhaps it might have been acceptable... but the Ibis Styles in Brisbane City proper is only a little more expensive most days and of far better quality. Also, the location is awful and on a very noisy road.

Ibis is as Ibis does - I don't expect much from them. Last Ibis I stayed as was $71, earning points and extending the life of others. The 'bathroom' had a shower, towel rail and a dunny. The actual handwash basin was in the main room.

This is now changing. Some (but not all) Ibis Budget properties in Australia now participate in Accor ALL.
