just checked their facebook page (Terra Mia deli pizzeria caffe?) , doesn't seem to be popular anyway, you still have yelp, google, tripadvisor and zomato to put down your dinning experience, lots of people specially tourist search for those. the best part is no comments can be remove by third party.

There's a few bad reviews already on TripAdvisor, but no one mentions a 17% surcharge. Not doubting your experience, but wondering whether they were trying to hit you up for a group booking 'service charge' or maybe instituting a new 'policy' to gouge you?

Our Dr Ralph's been cheated by someone since you all know when(the weekend actually),
So he made up his mind this bulltish must come to an end.
Look at him now, will he ever learn?
I don't know how, because he can be quite stern.
There's a raging fire within his soul.
Just one look and I can hear a bell ring,
Just another look and I can see a waiter sing.

Terra Mia, does he go again?
My my, I think he can resist it .
Terra Mia, put on a real show for him.
My my, just how pissed was he to now be delisted?

Yes, Ralphy's been brokenhearted,
Blue since the day he farted.
Why, why did he ever let it go?
Terra Mia, now we all really do know !

My my, I would never want to go,
I've been angry and sad about things that they allegedly do.
Like charging massive credit card surcharges for some simple Italian food.
And when he left, did Ralphy slam the door?
I think you know that you won't be away too long.
But there are many other places to dine in woollongong.
Or sit at home with a nice bottle of grog,
Sippin out of the riedels while sucking on a bong.

My wine buying ban is in serious jeopardy:

AMEX has a spend $60 get $30 back deal (https://offerenroll.americanexpress.com/enroll/EnrollmentSitePage?offer=52551Vinomofo)

I have 12 AMEX, so could do some serious damage!

Looking at this item:

Someone talk me out of it!

Too good an offer I think. Go for it. It's only one 'big' bottle...and it says you don't have to worry about it until 2029 :)

Well I don't know if I can 'blame' Betty or not, but I did just buy the magnum. As Betty says maybe I can justify it by thinking I don't have to worry about it until 2029!

I did make it nearly 4 weeks without buying any wine!

Remember all those VM disappointments? Delivery kerfuffles? Later on selling-off hassles?

But if these get you more free meals at good restaurants.. why not? :p

About 100 bottles gone over the past week from various sales. It's difficult to part with many of the premium bottles (particularly my Wendouree) - but I do like the fact that they are going to good homes where they will be appreciated and enjoyed.

if you were in Melbourne you wouldn't have any delivery problems!

This thread was started in mid October. At that time I was very worried about the stockpile I had accumulated. A decision was made that drastic action needed to be taken to reduce stock levels.

The biggest reduction came via a contra deal with a local restaurant. Word soon spread and then another restaurant wanted in on the same action. The first restaurant has been back for another purchase and the cycle just grew very quickly.

Add in a few private sales and just 6 weeks later 1000 bottles have now been removed from my cellar.

The level is still too high for me. But I didn't think that this much of a reduction would happen so quickly.

It will be all too easy to slip back into old habits which could see the levels rise again.

But hopefully I've learned my lesson and gotten out of what could have been a very wasteful situation rather easily.

What sort of racking and cooling system do you run Dr Ralph? Sounds like a big and impressive cellar!

Anything over $100 a bottle is in something like this:

TRANSTHERM - World leader in high-End Wine Cooler Refrigerators

As for the rest - As I live in a unit complex I have a deep (3 levels underground) storage space and I run a fan on a timer in that area for circulation. It's very stable and sits at around 18 degrees with little to no fluctuation.

This thread has been a great read.

Looking at this from the other side as someone new to wine collecting this seems like a really good problem to have.

Nevertheless good job offloading them so quickly, would be a shock to loose such a big % in such a small period of time.
